Finally, FINAL FANTASY XIII launched today. |

This is December 17 here in Japan. Some countries may still be December 16 on calendar, but anyway, finally on sale huh. |

FINAL FANTASY XII launched on March 16, 2006, so that is three and a half year since the last FF. |

Though we got many FINAL FANTASY during this period. |

Those FF are not important and the sales are not great at all. This time it is a major sequel so it is another story. |

The first FINAL FANTASY on PS3 huh. In Japan, it is exclusive for PS3, but there will be both PS3 and Xbox 360 versions for oversea gamers. |

Nowadays Japan's game market is below 20% of the world. But this series sales great in Japan. FINAL FANTASY XII's sales in Japan is about 40% to 50% of the worldwide sales figure. That's why we are all noticing XIII now. |

PS3 is not popular yet, so about 1.8 million. 1.5 million to 2 million is the zone. The price is quite high so maybe some people would prefer buying second-hand copy. |

I don't know if you guys got the habit to pre-order but the ranking of XIII is quite low. Here in Japan XIII occupied the top of the amazon.co.jp's ranking since the pre-order started. Maybe XIII is not hot outside Japan. |

While we talk, there is an announcement on December 17 morning that XIII has shipped 1.8 million copies. Just as expected. |
