How to Kill Summoned Creatures - FF13 FAQs & Walkthrough

How to Kill Summoned Creatures - FF13 FAQs & Walkthrough
Today is about summons huh.
During the story you must fight your summoned creatures. The battle is special, so I want to explain it.
You can't kill a summoned creature by normal damage only.
Basically, there is another gauge, not HP. When that gauge become max, you need to press square button, and the battle will end.
How can we make that gauge to increase?
You need to act according to the summoned creature's requirement. Normal attack contributes little, and there is a time limit when you fight summoned creature. So you better act according to its requirement.
And the requirements of each summoned creature are?
Use Libra to analyze its status, and there will be an essay hinting the requirements. But some players say they can't understand so I better explain.
Let's start with Shiva.
Use Sentinel's Rise Guard or Ravager's Blizzard Blow can make that gauge increases. Shiva would recover our HP, so we only need to concentrate on that gauge.
How about Odin?
Recovering your own HP will make that gauge increase, but basically it depends on Ravager's attack. Lightning as Ravager, Hope as Medic. When you are in danger, Paradigm Shift to 2 Medics. Odin uses Thunder-type attack, so equip your team with "Thunder Ring".
As for Brynhildr?
Using buffs can make that gauge increase too, but attack is main. Ravager should not allow the attack chain to cut off. Sazh as Synergist, use Haste on Sazh and Vanille. Then Sazh changes to Commando, and Vanille changes to Ravager and attack. When the Break gauge increase to a certain amount, both members should change to Ravager and raise the gauge. Of course you need to recover, use portion to save time.
Then we've got Bahamut.
Fang as Saboteur to use all debuffs, then change to Sentinel and defend. Lightning as Ravager to attack. Vanille as Medic to recover.
How about Alexander?
Hope as Synergist and use Protect on our party, then change to Ravager to attack. Lightning as Medic and Fang as Commando. Lightning can change to Ravager to help, and that gauge will increase faster.
Finally, Hecatoncheir.
Firstly, Vanille and Fang as Saboteurs to use debuffs. Then, Vanille changes to Ravager, Fang changes to Commando and attack. When you get hurt, recover by Vanille.
That's all.
When you know the method, the only thing left is to challenge until success. It is meaningful to use Reserve Smoke by pressing L1 button on the field before entering the battle. Think about it.
Normal damage is not effective, so many people struggle with summoned creatures huh.
That may be the most difficult part of FF13. So try it out.
Roger.
